HEMOPERITONEUM - accumulation of blood in the abdominal cavity. It develops more often as a result of damage to the abdominal organs and certain diseases (ovarian apoplexy, ectopic pregnancy).
The clinical picture consists of signs of acute blood loss and local symptoms; depends on the nature of the damage, the intensity of bleeding in the abdominal cavity and the volume of spilled blood. With acute hemoperitoneum, the patient complains of darkening in the eyes, dizziness , sharp pain in the abdomen. In this case, pallor of the skin and visible mucous membranes, thirst, cold sweat, adynamia, fainting, and possibly motor excitement are observed. The patient seeks to take a sitting position, in which the pain decreases. The pulse is weak, increases to 120-140 beats / min, blood pressure decreases. The abdomen on palpation is soft, there are symptoms of peritoneal irritation, dullness in flat areas is determined percussion. In the blood - a decrease in the amount of hemoglobin, red blood cells, hematocrit. Patients with suspected hemoperitonsum need to be hospitalized in the surgical department. Before examining a doctor, the use of painkillers and drugs is contraindicated.
